Easy win but who let Fergie in at the Emirates?

April 26, 2009

Two goals from our latest goal machine Cesc meant that the Boro curse has finally been lifted. In a strange game the strikers from both teams had next to zero effect. If anything most of the goalscoring threat came from midfield; Cesc and Arshavin were immense while I thought Downing had a fine game for Middlesborough and he wasn’t even marked down as a threat by me in my previous post.

My expectation was that there would be goals, needless to say I didn’t expect just 2 in the end. It was a bit of quiet game, wasn’t it? A bit too easy although Jeremie had a chance to continue his freak goalscoring habit against us. This is the defeat that will send Boro closer to the drop. I feel sorry for Southgate, Middlesborough are the best ‘team’ in the North east in my opinion. If their strikers fired consistently, they wouldn’t have been in this predicament.

Moving on, I was majorly surprised and annoyed also that Ferguson was at the Emirates game. How can you let a rival manager come for a scouting job on our team? If it was left in my hands, I would send Fergie back up to motorway to Old Trafford. Wednesday is our most important game we’ve had for a while. Not only do we have one less day to prepare for it but now Utd have had an opportunity to spy on us. I was pretty impressed though that Arsene kept changing the team around. Playing Ade and Bendtner on the wings was pretty interesting to say the least.

Comfortable win but we will need to be at our very best against Utd. I think that will be plenty to get a good result. Meanwhile, 4th is all but secured, is 3rd a possibility in the Prem?

all hail pass master Eboue, brilliant set up for cesc’s 2nd. I don’t think fergie could be barred from entering the emirates stadia, isn’t that some kind of discrimination?

With the third place, if chelsea hadn’t got hiddink and we won some of our 0-0′s then we could be there.
