Champions League Preview – Walcott the key man

April 29, 2009

Let’s face it, most of us are pretty gutted that Arshavin is ineligible in the Champions League semi final. A lot of the pressure had been put on the shoulders on Fabregas. Not only does he create goals, but he can also finish them as he did against Middlesborough. But for me, he isn’t the main player. Theo Walcott is.

Theo talks a good game doesn’t he? A week or so ago he claimed everybody feared Arsenal. I don’t think that is the case. I think they just fear Walcott. The boy has improved so much this year that Wenger actually prefers him to Eboue on the right (now I’ve said that, Theo will start on the bench against Utd, won’t he?!)

Pace, finishing, off the ball movement and he fights for the cause defensively as well. At one point against the Boro he made a tackle in a right back position! If Theo starts well, Arsenal will most likely go on to do well. I just hope he doesn’t keep falling over like he can do sometimes.

Moving on to team selection, this is the team I want to see against Utd

Almunia
Sagna Djourou Toure Gibbs
Song Nasri
Walcott Fabregas Diaby
Adebayor

Do you agree with my selection? If not what team would you play?

Um, Diaby switch Nasri and then Fabregas switch Diaby again (or Song.), and Gibbs against United?

    Otherwise good line up.

I prefer Gibbs to Silvestre. Diaby I put on the left because he could be the link player and he normally tends to drift there.
