The inevitable cannot be stopped

Let us be honest here now. Manchester United are going to win the title. If not against us, then they damn will against Hull. Stranger things have happened but Liverpool simply won’t win it now. Who is the more deserving out of the two is not something I will discuss, frankly speaking, it has been fun to see the two bicker over it briefly.
Normally a game against United (I typed untied by accident there before correcting it), is one we look forward and dread at the same time. However following our two heavy defeats, I longer dread. I can’t think of a worse result and it really doesn’t change things for this season at least.
I’ve been reading about the Q&A between the shareholders and Wenger courtesy of arsenalinsider.com (thanks very much for this btw). It was largely very candid as it has been lately although couple of points stood out for me. One I agree with, the other I am more skeptical of.
Wenger mentioned the lack of support at home games which led to a nervous feeling among the boys on the pitch. Apart from the last two games where support was fantastic, this is something that has to be deemed as true. Fans have shown a lot of frustration whenever results haven’t gone our way. Whatever happens, this is our Arsenal and we stick with the team. I would expect something like this if we were a club like Real Madrid or AC Milan where fans demand success, otherwise they are indifferent. However, the English league is renowned for the the home support given to players. So come on Gunners, Wenger does make a point. Support hasn’t been fantastic on the whole, we can sort this out can’t we?
The other point, which I disagree with, is the idea that Arshavin didn’t start the Chelsea game because he wanted the boys to win without him. Well, if that was the case why even have him on the bench? Why give the boys the security that Arshavin would make it okay? I’m sorry but I wasn’t convinced with that one. It was probably for me, the weakest answer given in the Q&A. I haven’t seen the footage of this session, but I certainly hope it wasn’t as heated as it was made out. For all of Arsenal’s failures this season, we made the semi’s in two competitions and have guaranteed 4th place with 3 games to go. Now that isn’t too bad is it?
Back to the United game, I only, look forward to it to see the response of our boys. I want to see how we react if and when Ronaldo and co score the first goal. Will we crack as easily as in the last two games or will we show some fight. For now that is all I want to see. FIGHT. You know, some passion. Isn’t this what makes the Premiership?
