POLL: Who was your Arsenal hero for October 2009?

2009 November 2
by gunnerstoday

In other words, your player of that month.

Yes, a couple of names in the list below are intriguing. However this poll is all about the player who made your October special. So if for instance, its Ramsey with his playmaking goodness against Liverpool, then vote for him. You can also add your own suggestions, either in the poll itself and/or leaving a comment.

There isn’t a right or wrong answer here except the ones that ones that say, “I voted for him as he is my best friend.” Or something along those lines. Although a little bit of irreverence never hurt anyone so what the heck.

Cheers Gooners.

I feel there are 2 or 3 who have continuously been consistent for some weeks now, during october. van persie, vermaelen, and even gallas, but for me i think it has to be fagregas. He has been at the centre of all things recently. A man with a heart shaped like the arsenal badge.
He has taken the games we played one by one & systematically worked his butt off to not only create chances for his team-mates, but to also get on that scoresheet regularly.
Cesc is the man for the honour in october! he has stood up & been counted.

Well Cesc and Rob can fight it out with Tommy,But don’t let us forget 3rd choice kid(for a goallie atleast) came in with twenty mins notice and did well I think…Another star kid. Nice one Vito

    Roginoz,
I won’t, you can vote for whoever you want. He didn’t embarass himself that much especially when you think how well the more established keepers (Cech, Casillas, Dida) fared in that month.

Taft, true. I did say in my West Ham review that Cesc was one of three players to come away with credit.

J, Vermaelen was awesome on Saturday and otherwise, so good case there.

Decadog, hard to argue with that.

Opinions are varied and so it should be. Don’t forget the other players who excelled in October. show them some love as well. It doesn’t have to be Mr consistent, can be a one-off show.

I thought i did that by including Vito?? Anyway I’ll probably get caned for saying this’ I’ll show my love to the Arsenal team always, even the ones that have given me the hump,on the odd occassion .There’s only one I won’t give it to and that’s Sendimoff..Even if you did play quite well midweek.Sorry mate, nothing against you personnaly, but we are lumbered with you, even the boss could’nt offload you…Better luck when your contract runsout… OK Robin gets my vote

rvp baby! i love him and want him at arsenal for the rest of his career. i would just love to see him do a bergkamp and retire here! i love both the tommys, nasri, cesc, gallas, sagna can now actually cross the ball wtf! song’s looking good, ramsey’s looking amazing. oh it’s good to be a gooner when there are so many worthy players to choose from. sagna’s crossing lately has improved 10fold so that’s actually a really major plus for me. clichy has to finally get working on his and we can be much more dangerous. it’s great seeing that the gallas, tommy partnership looks stronger than ever. it’s not a case of good form with those two, it’s a case of great class. form is temporary but class is permanent and i think vermalen has had enough games now for us to know he’s not just a decent defender on great form, he’s a brilliant defender on his usual form. in my opinion he’s looking one of the top 5 signings wenger has made so far. thinking of which i’d name, henry, pires, viera and cesc with tommy in 5th. what a player!

actually i’m going to change my vote from rvp to verminator simply because he managed to make crouch seem poor in the air and shorter than him. i don’t know how he does it, he has a huge leap but that’s not the main reason in my opinion. i think his quality comes from his spacing, reading of the ball and timing of the jump. the combination makes him get the better of a striker in 90% of aerial battles which is incredible. ESPECIALLY vs crouch who’s twice his size and could barely touch the ball.

verminator is also the best defender i’ve seen in many many years in one vs one situations. he is almost never beaten, whether the player is trying to take him on or cross it past him. he literally tackles or intercepts like 80% which is a ludicrous success rate for any defender

please gooners please, give Alex Song some credit please! please keep an eye on this guy. what? Am I the only one who digs what this guy doing on the turf?

  11. 2009 November 3

have to say Cosmic, Song was voted the man of the match for the Birmingham match so he does gets his share of the credit. Besides voting hasn’t finished. You might be surprised.

Ryan, fantastic. I agree with everything you said there.

It is worth pointing out though, Clichy had one of the best interception rates last year and was excellent on that count against Spurs on Saturday.

    cosmic_rider.. i cant really say i love him(song
).. i have my players that i admire on a personal level.. but like you said, you have to give him credit for what he has been doing on the pitch.. thus, i have voted for him…. well deserved… hope he continues the same way (and even better) for the rest of the season..
