Last 5 league meetings at Anfield in Pictures

December 11, 2009

What are your memories of our matches with Liverpool? Hopefully these pictures will remind of the good, the bad and the ugly. Here are the pictures that sum up our last 5 league encounters at Anfield.

Fatboy Mellor was the slim shady in November 2004 with his last minute winner. His goal largely overshadowed an equally stunning strike from Alonso and a superb team goal signed off by Vieira.

Jens Lehmann had an outstanding game and even saved this penalty from Gerrard. But Luis Garcia had the last laugh as he broke many Arsenal hearts on Valentines Day 2006.

Peter Crouch was head and shoulders above everyone in March 2007. His hatrick ensured we came away with a rare beating from Anfield.

Our slick football outplayed Liverpool for large parts of the game but Gerrard’s early free-kick meant we were still losing the game. Cesc’s late equalizer gave us a deserved draw in October 2007.

Four goals from Arshavin almost gave us the win scarcely deserved. Liverpool scored a last minute equalizer and it  finished 4-4 in April 2009.
